Frequently asked questions

A burning smell is coming from my electrical panel โ€” what do I do?

Turn off the main breaker and call us immediately. A burning smell at your panel indicates a serious wiring fault, overloaded circuit, or failing breaker. This is an electrical emergency โ€” do not ignore it or wait.

Why does my breaker keep tripping?

Common causes: the circuit is overloaded (too many devices), a faulty appliance is drawing too much current, there's a wiring fault (short circuit or ground fault), or the breaker itself is failing. We'll test to find which it is and fix the actual cause โ€” not just reset the breaker.

Why did an outlet stop working but others still work?

Usually a tripped GFCI somewhere upstream โ€” check all GFCI outlets in that room and nearby (sometimes a garage GFCI protects kitchen or bathroom outlets on the same circuit). If no GFCI is tripped, the outlet may have a loose wiring connection or a failed breaker. We can trace the circuit and fix it.
